National gross revenue tax returns
Businesses file quarterly gross revenue tax returns and pay the tax to the national revenue officer in the State where they have their principal place of business, or to the Secretary of Finance and Administration. This is a tax return, not an invoice exchange, and has no link to Peppol.
Return in the form the Secretary prescribes · Official source: FSM Department of Finance and Administration · FSM Code Title 54, chapter 1, Taxation of Wages, Salaries and Gross Revenues (2014 edition)
The FSM is a freely associated state, sovereign and self-governing, and its Congress sets national taxes. National taxes are in Title 54 of the FSM Code. For most businesses the main one is the quarterly gross revenue tax, which requires accurate records but prescribes no invoice format.
A VAT and Net Profits Tax have been proposed, but no law was found in the sources reviewed, so watch DoFA's announcements. There is no Peppol Authority, and no national e-invoicing network was found in the sources reviewed.
