Documents, specifications and syntax
Peppol messages are business documents, such as an invoice or an order. Each is exchanged according to a specification:
- UBL describes the XML structure of a document.
- A BIS (Business Interoperability Specification) sets the rules for an exchange.
- PINT is an international billing model that individual countries specialise.
The tree lists every active document type in its official OpenPeppol category, exactly as in the reviewed code list. Choose a category or a document type to see its identifiers and processes, followed by a plain-English explanation of the document. The explanations are written for this site and don't change the official classification.
