Peppol
Public-sector entities are connected to Peppol Access Points, so suppliers can deliver through Peppol. Cyprus has no national Peppol Authority; OpenPeppol acts as the authority.
Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 · Official source: European Commission · eInvoicing in Cyprus
For a Cypriot public buyer, a Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoice sent through any Peppol Access Point reaches the national platform. Suppliers without an Access Point can use the gov.cy portal. Sending e-invoices is voluntary for suppliers today. Check each contract, because a mandatory clause for some procurement sectors is under discussion. See the Commission’s country page.
These rules apply in the government-controlled areas. EU law is suspended in the northern part of the island. The Sovereign Base Areas follow Cypriot VAT treatment, according to the Commission’s territorial status table.
